Dear Hospitality Professional:
As a seasoned traveler and hotel client, over
these last few years, I have seen with
increasing frequency, more and more
crescent-style shower rods sagging and detaching
from the wall anchors. Trying to hold the
curtain closed makes showering a difficult,
unpleasant experience. Cleaning up the water
overflow afterwards just adds to the
frustration. I imagine many hotel managers and
maintenance engineers are just as aggravated
about this problem. Having to constantly try to
reattach the rod, or reconstruct the wall
support, results in lower rental availability --
which as you know, can be quite costly.
My research has shown that most current wall
anchors are ineffective, and with only two small
screws, are lacking in proper support. Slick
Concepts has developed a new stainless steel
bracket that attaches to the existing bracket to
provide a four-point attachment with sturdier
#10 screws. This Slick bracket is installed in
most cases within 30 minutes. Please review the
information on our website, and pass this on to
your maintenance engineer for their review.
Thank you,
Gerry Silva,
